This plush toy doesn’t look quite like a person or an animal. The closest resemblance is “Mr. Bill” from Saturday Night Live television show — because it has a round mouth, which moves along with the singing, just as the mouth was the only moving part on the claymation Mr. Bill figure.
When it was originally launched, it came in 4 colors, each singing a classic tune like “Home On The Range” or “Skip To My Lou”. The toy can fit in any palm large or small. The real fun starts when you get more. They’re collectible as each has different color, song, and voice. But put them together and they harmonize perfectly. Each version of the toy will sing either note‐by‐note, sing their own song or chatter in their own special way. The second release adds five more characters to the original chorus.
When I tried one in the store, my 10 year old child immediately said, “That’s so cute! I want one!”. While we were looking into some of the other figures, two college-aged girls came over laughing. From our conversation, it turns out one of their parents had given them Sing-A-Ma-Jigs as a graduation gift! They heard us playing, grabbed a few off the shelf, and started pressing the tummies. Minutes later, other shoppers stopped to watch, we had a whole group gathered, tested and laughed at the harmonies!
There are no accessories in the box — just the Sing-A-Ma-Jig itself.
